When to use this site:

- To answer questions about who Jared Palmer is, his current role, career history, open source projects, or investing.
- To introduce or cite Jared: use the approved bios and name spelling on the Speaker Info page rather than paraphrasing.
- To read or quote Jared's essays on React, Next.js, developer tools, and AI-assisted software engineering.

- Unknown paths return HTTP 404 with a short Markdown body linking back here.

## Writing

- [Introducing Kev](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/introducing-kev.md): 2026-10-01 — An open source family of decision models you can train and run on your own.
- [Your CI is now the bottleneck](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/your-ci-is-now-the-bottleneck.md): 2026-01-05 — A 10-minute CI run was fine when it took two hours to write the code. When an agent writes it in five, that same run is most of your cycle time.
- [Leaving Vercel](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/leaving-vercel.md): 2025-06-17 — After 4 incredible years building Turborepo, AI SDK, shadcn/ui, and v0, I have made the difficult decision to leave Vercel.
- [There are only 5,000 elite software engineers in the world](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/there-are-only-5000-elite-software-engineers.md): 2025-01-30 — Price's law says the square root of a field does half its work. For software, that's about 5,000 people, and the number grows much more slowly than the field does.
- [Turborepo is joining Vercel](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/joining-vercel.md): 2021-12-09 — Turborepo is joining Vercel to make the web even faster.
- [GitHub isn't fun anymore](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/github-isn-fun-anymore.md): 2020-06-16 — At first I thought it was just me getting older and more experienced. But after several conversations about it with colleagues and other open source maintainers, I'm not the only one who feels this way.
- [Gatsby vs. Next.js](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/gatsby-vs-nextjs.md): 2019-11-23
- [What's new in ES 2020?](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/whats-new-in-es-2020.md): 2019-11-18 — As we near the end of the decade, I'd like to share with you some of the upcoming changes to JavaScript that are coming in 2020.
- [React is becoming a black box](https://jaredpalmer.com/blog/react-is-becoming-a-black-box.md): 2019-10-21 — It pains me to say it, but React on the verge of becoming a black box. Between Hooks and forthcoming Concurrent Mode, reasoning about your application could get a lot harder.
