After 4 incredible years, I have made the difficult decision to leave Vercel.
My teams have accomplished so much during this time. We transformed Turborepo from my solo project into the defacto monorepo build system in TypeScript. The AI SDK evolved from a handful of code snippets into the foundational backbone of AI Engineering. Shadcn UI has become the world's most popular component library for both humans and AI models. And then there's v0.dev, of course, which has become one of the world's leading AI coding products.
Millions of people can now build, iterate, and ship on the web in ways that were unimaginable just a few years ago. We've made the web accessible to an entirely new generation of creators, and I'm endlessly proud of what we've accomplished together.
There's never a perfect time to step away, but this moment feels right. I've finished up the Turborepo acquisition earn out and all of my projects are at their peak—Turborepo and AI SDK are seeing record npm weekly downloads with exponential growth, and v0 just had its strongest month ever in growth, usage, adoption, and monetization.
As for what's next, I'm stepping away to give myself the time and freedom to explore.
I will forever be grateful to Guillermo Rauch for the opportunity to build and work alongside this remarkable team. He is still my best friend, mentor, and someone I'll keep looking up to for the rest of my career.
Though I'll no longer be in the trenches, I'll be cheering loudly for everything Vercel does next.

Hey! I'm Jared Palmer. I'm the VP of Engineering at Cognition, the applied AI lab behind Devin, focused on building the future of software engineering with AI.
